380 Square Feet | House Tours | Apartment Therapy

– Hello, my name is Andrea. Welcome to our 380 square feet apartment in Brooklyn, New York. I would describe my style
as nostalgic and whimsical. I love objects that have a story to them. So, anything that comes from a friend or comes associated with a memory. This is our living room. We have our meals here. We like to set a little nook and read. Love to play games when
we have friends over. And this is also my primary workspace. This shelf right here is my
first foray into woodworking. I’ve always really loved the
look of old P.O. Box stores. This reminds me of that rush that you get when you know you’ve received a letter or a postcard in the mail. So this one is in Spanish, and it’s a recipe for a Pisco Sour cocktail, which is special to us
because it reminds us of the time that we lived in Peru. This right here is our bedroom. This is where we sleep. And, also where our baby sleeps now. (reflective music) I really love to make
things with my hands. The bench in our living room. The storage bed in our bedroom. All the shelves in our bedroom as well. The ladder to reach our
little tiny library shelf. Which I also put in. In terms of woodworking,
that’s all I can think of. But I also love to
paint, and I love to sew. And I really should’ve lived
in a different era altogether. (laughing) Because none of these things
are technology related. So yeah. I just love to craft
things and make things. I think things that have a story to them, it just makes them so
much more interesting. And a lot of times because maybe there’s only one of those things or you don’t know how many of
those things exist anymore. And just the idea of treasuring
something for a long time and the fact that it has
survived for a long time and it’s still around is just
really cool in and of itself. I guess there’s something kind
of romantic about it to me. So.

  1. I don't normally comment on these videos but I am so impressed by this lovely young woman. Not only does she "make a house a home" with all her projects but they turned out really good! That painting is stunning, as is the mailbox shelf. And she's a new mom too! Andrea should be our next Martha Stewart — a modern, hand-made, gentler and more bubblier version. Everything she does is made with love. I'd watch her show for sure!

  2. I love her! She's so warm and lovely. I love that everything in her home has special significance to her and her husband. She's so clever making all that storage space to make more use of the space that she does have. Although I agree with the description – she will have to rethink the space when her baby is mobile! These home tours are one of the best parts of your channel. Something about being invited into someone's private space and hearing the stories about each piece in the apartment feels quite intimate. I love seeing how spaces are arranged and decorated too!

  3. Woodworking, sewing, AND painting. Wow! What are some of your special talents in the home? Let us know in the comments below!

  4. If you love animals , please share and sign the petition below ….thank you so much

  5. really love the space, and the dining table is fab to do work on, woodwork shelf looks amazing. I would love an apartment like that. I live in a studio apartment in the uk and really like a small space as it makes you become more creative. I have it with a mid-century influence, have a typewriter and record player, love crafting too. Think that vintage and retro past times like crafting are being picked up again but with a mix of having some technology too: best of both worlds. Anyway your home is adorable.

  6. OMG so in love with her apartment and her talent, too! I was looking for decorating ideas for my tiny apartment and definitively this video is giving me some inspiration! Keep the good work!

  7. Nice place but where did you get that antique singer sewing machine? Wow. You're a better "handyman" than me. Now I feel emasculated

  8. I love how detailed the decorating is. The mailboxes with the recipe for the cocktail is such a special moment in the home. This place is where design and the sentimental occupy the same space.

  10. Splendid young woman ! The apartment looks so comfortable and comforting , just so warm and cosy a place to come home to . A certain amount of talent is required to pull off this look , or it can end up in a shambles ! . This is perfect . Well done โค๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

  11. Tremendous work shes done. Id love to be able to make furniture like that to the point everyone thought i bought it. The flow of the small space is also really good

  12. an amazing and beautiful home. Beautiful wood work. Are you planning on still staying in your apartment when you baby is older? Just curious. Thanks for sharing.

  13. Just wait a couple of months for when that baby starts crawling and walking. I feel like you have too many things on display

  14. Itโ€™s amazing what a creative mind can do with a small space :). Apartment Therapy both saved and inspires me

  15. I feel so upset with myself for having major green eyes every time I see these useful tips with married people. I've rid myself of 80% of a life time of stuff…thanks 2018! Now 2019 is to keep it going and pay-off debts in order to get into a 400sq foot condo in San Francisco, CA. I love this because it shows that you can make the best of what life gives you without looking like your missing out. SF is the only location in the world that is willing to give me a job and after 5-years of looking, I know it's time for me to stop commuting 6-hours a day just to live in a 1,045sq foot condo miles away. Sometimes it's less stressful in the long run to down size your living foot print. So thank you for all the useful advise ๐Ÿ™‚

  16. So….. Only one person can sit and be comfortable at a time…. smh… ONE small โ€œBarbieโ€ couch?!…

The apartment layout is good… but… itโ€™s also obvious that sheโ€™s the decorator and wants to live in a 1930โ€™s dollhouse… I mean really?…

    The space is NOT functional… NOR… comfortable… but yes… as a museum…itโ€™s โ€œdo-ableโ€…

  17. really beautiful. you did an amazing job with the decor and the pieces that you made. a beautiful place for a lovely family!!!!

  18. Wowww 380 its beautiful and I love how you decorated and love the wood latter and everything. You are so talented I can't even use a drill lol .

  19. What an extremely lovely home you have… The best word l can think of after watching your video is โ€œJoyfulโ€! โ™ฅ๏ธ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ
