Backyard Chickens – Respiratory Disease – VetRx

okay so we've posted a previous video on a chicken making a strange sound and we got quite a few comments um not very helpful at all and some quite helpful we Rhea contacted local chicken experts here and we come up with consistence is it was a respiratory disease what we did to treat this for our hand was used the vet RA so it's a natural remedy that we've used in the past before for our chickens and it works great it's almost like pigs for chickens it smells to get that strong Vicks type smell it works very well we gave that to her that same night when she went to bed in the coop I ministered that to her via the wrists the instructions on the packaging and the next morning she was much better already and she was not wheezing coughing or sneezing at all so I highly recommend just bed our egg stuff a lot of people commented that we should give them antibiotics antibiotics antibiotics antibiotics this this is you know for me that that is not why we are raising backyard chickens Roy's backyard chickens that happen the highest quality chicken eggs we can and if I want to get a chicken or a chicken egg that's been laced with some kind of additive or whatnot you could go to the grocery store and get these from the commercial production which do supply antibiotics and many other items to their chicken flocks which will be passed on to their chicken eggs there's a lot of data and research done if antibiotics are passed on to the eggs or not but once you do a minister a antibiotic to your chicken you cannot label it as an inn or organic chicken egg so keep that in mind also so I will not run and jump to the first antibiotic remedy to kill your chickens for the first option or first line of defense so we use this at vet rx also this vet rx you can add to a vaporizer a hot water vaporizer not a humidifier humidifier uses a cold water but you need a vaporizer that uses hot water which the vet ex requires it could be mixed with hot water you can add this vaporizer to their chicken coop at night there recommends adding it for about an hour and that will also keep a much healthier through the winter times is this is what most likely cause the respiratory problem for us also this antibiotics are actually not approved for laying hens that we were recommended even at the local feed store they recommended and we did go ahead and buy some antibiotics just in case we needed to do that ministry for that emergency time but if you look at the label closely it says not corlane ends I did a lot of research and I could not find an antibiotic for laying hens most of these are labeled for cattle or poultry but they're only approved for meat or breeding stock on our layers so you really have to do your research a lot of people use them and as a off-label means but there's little research done about the hen and her eggs there's a post some comments down below in the description you can read about the different documentation and trade magazine publications etc that debate this back and forth but you have to be able to have to throw out the eggs for at least two weeks and we're also recommended to treat our whole flock which I know I was resistant to do we of course we watch our hands all the time I'm very aware of that

  1. I have a sick quail and Baytril drops but no directions on how much to put into her water. Any experienced Quail owners here have any idea how much I should add to her water? Thanks

  2. Thank you for sharing! But how do you open your chicken's beak, without her biting? And can I add the remedy to the drinking water? Is it okay to keep this chiken with the flock, as they share water?

  3. One of the components is oil of oregano. Oregano essential oil has many health benefits that include treatment of parasitic and fungal infections, strengthening the immune system, and improving digestion. It can minimize the severity of allergic reactions.
The benefits of oregano essential oil can be attributed to its antiviral, antibacterial, antifungal, antiparasitic, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and digestive properties.

  4. hello to all of you…, you did very good job,, , we rase over 5000 birds a yr, [ chickens] , i had this issue couple of times,,,YRS AGO …,, what i strongly recommend and works best for me, , use one cup of natural organic raw apple cider vinegar for every gallon of water, for 5 day, i guarantee you theY get better and they are not going to ever get sick again… do it every 3 months for 5 days, , and this great procedure helps perfectly to deworm the chickens at the same time,………. if the chickens are severely sick, buy some tylan 200.. and give at to the affected chicken directly in the mouth . 3 drops 2 times a day , and one drop in the eye 2 times a day…,, for 5 day every day,, 2nd day that affected chicken will be 75 % better,,at woks 100% ,…..hope this help some one,,, ,, GOD BLESS,

  9. Useless video. How do you use vet RX dosage? Quit giving the negative information about antibiotics talk about vet RX. I search for a video on how to use vetrx. Am I supposed to lock a chicken in a box with a vaporizer?

  10. Can you show me where it's written that you cannot label eggs organic if they were given antibiotics once? I know they cannot be labeled "No antibiotics ever" or "raised without antibiotics" but organic standards do not stipulate that you can't treat sick hens, do they? I can't find this info anywhere.
