Canyon High School chosen to participate in the teen mental health first aid pilot program

ALERTS ON OUR WEBSITE. (ANDY:) ONE SCHOOL HERE ON THE HIGH PLAINS HAS BEEN CHOSEN TO HELP ADDRESS THE ISSUE OF TEEN MENTAL HEALTH. (JACKIE:) CANYON HIGH SCHOOL WAS ONE OF JUST 35 SCHOOLS SELECTED IN THE ENTIRE COUNTRY TO PARTICIPATE IN THE “TEEN MENTAL HEALTH FIRST AID PROGRAM.” THE IN-PERSON TRAINING IS DESIGNED FOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS TO LEARN ABOUT MENTAL ILLNESSES AND ADDICTIONS, PARTICULARLY HOW TO IDENTIFY AND RESPOND TO A DEVELOPING MENTAL HEALTH OF SUBSTANCE USE PROBLEM AMONG FELLOW STUDENTS.
