Community gathers for FREE medical services

thousands of people took time today to focus on their health and take advantage up a lot of free services this was all provided at the 53rd annual Nueces County Medical Society health fair at the American Bank Center Kristoff’s news reporter Kathryn McGinty was also there and she shows us what brings the public and medical experts out year after year and giveaways who says learning about health can’t be fun the Nueces County Medical Society held their health fair Saturday at the American Bank Center it just feels really good to get back to the community and allow people to get the care that they need that they might not have access to many people in the community we’re taking advantage of the free school physicals like Archie Hooper and his five children everybody’s getting taken care of healthy supplies wife a couple treats so it’s a good program we appreciate it there were more than 120 booths taking care of those in our community providing free exams immunizations medical advice demonstrations and of course plenty of freebies Nueces County Medical Society Alliance is giving away free bicycle helmets with fittings by physicians these free helmets for children are part of an initiative through Texas Medical Association called hard hats for little heads the event included the latest and greatest in the health field like this robotic exoskeleton that helps people walk it makes a difference you know just to stand up and walk a few steps and be able to look someone in the eye when you’re talking or not being a wheelchair amazing to see these medical experts say they just want to keep people in our community healthy and happy Catherine begins six news
