My approach to patient care is more of an
individualized patient centered approach. It’s important that in all the decisions that
we make that we put the patients at the center of those decisions which means understanding
how our decisions will impact their quality-of-life. That we understand the context of the decisions
within their everyday life. Making sure we understand their concerns,
their fears, their expectations, with our care. I went to medicine because I think it’s incredibly
rewarding and satisfying to have the privilege of being trusted with health and well-being
of our patients. Whether it be bringing life into this world
which is obstetrics the field that I originally went into. Whether it’s developing a management plan
for our patients or just keeping them healthy. One of the best and most rewarding parts of
my job is really keeping patients healthy and making a huge impact on the quality of
life. Probably the most important thing I want patients
to know about me is that when I care for them I try to focus on the individual needs of
my patients which means taking time to understand what’s important to them, what their concerns
are, their fears, what their goals are and what really will make a difference in terms
of quality of life.
