Dr. Sameera Raza – Family Medicine – What is a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI)?

Urinary tract infections (UTIs), we look for
signs of burning on urination, urinary frequency, sometimes stomach pain, bladder pressure. What we want you to do is start drinking water, right away, make an
appointment at the office, we will see you, get a urine sample, although some
people don’t have these symptoms, we still would like to see you in the
office to be examined, so if we let the symptoms go without being treated for a
long enough time, what will happen is, the infection will get into the blood and
that’s called sepsis and that’s very serious because that can cause your
organs to shut down, so you won’t be seeing us in the office, you’ll be
running to the emergency room, so it’s better to come in early to the office
with those symptoms and have us take a look at you.
