Eli Lilly donates downtown park to Indianapolis

GAVE US THESE PICTURES.. THEY’RE PLGOVERNMENT CENTER, AND A 600SEAT PERFORMING AND FINE CENTER. THE FACILITIES WOULD BE LOCATED ON THE CORNER OF CENTER AND MAIN STREETS. LEADERS HAVE NOT RELEASED HOW MUCH THE PROJECT WOULD COST.. BUT SAY IT COULD START WITHIN THE NEXT YEAR. THE TOWN COUNCIL IS SET TO LOOK OVER THE DESIGNS IN THE COMING WEEKS. *MIK*) PEOPLE LIVING IN DOWNTOWN INDIANAPOLIS HAVE A NEW PARK TO ENJOY. ELI LILLY IS DONATING “SOUTH STREET SQUARE PARK” TO THE CITY OF INDIANAPOLIS. A RIBBON CUTTING AND DEDICATION CEREMONY WAS HELD THERE THIS MORNING. THE THREE-ACRE PARK IS LOCATED ON THE NORTHERN EDGE OF LILLY’S CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS AND JUST ACROSS SOUTH STREET FROM THE CITY WAY DEVELOPMENT. LILLY HAS DEVELOPED THE PARK TO PROVIDE A PLACE WHERE RESIDENTS CAN ENJOY GREEN SPACE RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE CITY.
