Favorite Whey and Plant-Based Protein Powders | Workouts and Smoothies

Are you looking for a protein powder to
add to your workout routine or do you want to add a boost of protein to your
smoothies? Today I’ll share with you my favorite protein powders, coming up! Hey
everybody I’m Evelyn and I’m back with another video, I hope you’re having an
amazing day. Today I’m sharing with you my favorite protein powders. Let’s get
right into it. Once upon a time, I was on the search for a whey protein but I
wasn’t having any luck because the whey protein that I was trying was causing
digestive discomfort. I had belly aches. I was bloated. I had
flatulence. I had gas. I just thought that maybe whey protein isn’t for me. Well one
day I came across a website that recommended a certain brand of whey
protein and I decided to give it a try. So I moseyed on down to Vitamin Shoppe and
got me some sample sizes of this particular protein powder and I’ve been
sticking with this protein powder ever since. Let’s check it out. It is Optimum
Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey and this is from the whey protein isolate
that’s what this is. And it’s the primary protein source. I love this stuff. it
dissolves in water very well. It has a great taste. They have so many different
flavors and it has 24 grams of protein and it has 5.5 grams of
BCAAs and 4 grams of glutamic acid, not only that, it has one gram of sugar.
How cool is that? This stuff tastes good. You can’t go wrong with Optimum
Nutrition Gold Standard. This is my favorite one. I use it mainly for pre and
post workouts. Yeah, oh, also how could I forget this? I also use the protein
powder when I’m making pancakes or muffins or when I want to give my
oatmeal a boost of protein. I’ll put a scoop of this in there and I’m good to
go. The next protein powder I have is a
plant-based protein powder. This is the one that I use when I am
making a smoothie. I use the Vega Protein and Greens and they come in I think
three different flavors. I might be wrong, but I know that they have berry,
chocolate, and vanilla. This is the chocolate one and it’s fairly good.Tthe
only downside about this is that if you don’t like Stevia you may not like this
protein powder. Because Stevia tends to have an aftertaste. I don’t have an issue
with it. I use it for my smoothies. The good thing about this is that it has the
Greens already in it. It has spinach and kale in it and I
believe it’s like two servings of spinach and kale. But I add a scoop of this
to a green smoothie and I’m getting more greens and it tastes pretty good
especially this chocolate. Because I tend to add some powdered peanut butter to the
smoothie, especially the chocolate one and it tastes like I’m eating a Reese’s
Peanut Butter Cup. This is pretty good. It has 20 grams of protein and this is a
plant-based protein powder that I like. I really do. I’ve been using this for a
while and whenever I run out I go and get me another one. I usually swap it
out. This is chocolate, once I run out of this I will get a vanilla one. I don’t
like the berry one. It doesn’t taste good to me. This is what I like for my
smoothies. If you use protein powders, what is your favorite? Let us know in the
comments section below. Inquiring minds want to know. Also if

it those are my two favorite protein powders. don’t buy anything else. Those
are it. When you find what works for you you don’t have to go looking for other
protein powders. You just stick with what works, right? That’s what I do. That’s all
I have today. Thank you so much for watching and I’ll see you in the next
video. Bye bye!

  1. Lately, the protein powders that I use are by Amazing Grass – Protein Superfood and one by New Chapter – Complete Organic Plant Protein. I haven’t really settled on any particular one yet. I have thought about purchasing the Vega Protein that you mentioned. Will probably give both of yours a try since my ‘protein jury’ is still undecided. Love to you and your family🌸.

  2. Thanks for sharing your favorites. I think I would enjoy the chocolate flavor. I used to make protein shakes all the time back in the day…lol. Need to get back on them. Have a wonderful and blessed day!
    😄💕

  3. Hi Evelyn,
Since earlier this year, I've been using the Collagen Peptide (unflavored) by Sports Research.
I tried a plant based protein by Organifi, and I DID NOT like the gritty taste mixed with the stevia. I sent it back. The Collagen Peptide that I use mixes easily into my smoothies. I, sometimes, add it to my coffee. It leaves no odd taste or aftertaste. It also adds a creaminess to the smoothie. I'm going to have to try out the Vega. I saw it in Whole Foods, but was very skeptical to try it since I was so disappointed with the Organifi. Thanks for sharing!
