One word to describe my experience as an EIS officer is broad. I have done everything from coding to participating in an epi-aid, which is an investigation with a state health department, to teaching at GW School of Public Health. It’s been a great experience. If you want to apply EIS, I would say just do it. It’s an amazing program it has allowed me to pivot my career from being a clinician to public health. And in addition, it allows me to have public health impact on the population level. I was motivated to join EIS because of my interest and desire to take my skills as a pediatrician and apply that on a national level, and through public health, you can do that, you can make impact on a national level.
