Home Remedies for Toothache Relief | Dr. Josh Axe

Hey guys, Dr. Axe here. Today, I’m going talk to you about home remedies
for toothaches. If you’ve ever had a toothache or you have
a young child or a teething baby that has a toothache, you know that those can be painful. Those can be nagging and they can really just
make you miserable. And so, I want to go over my top three natural
remedies for curing toothaches fast. The first thing you need to use are essential
oils. And the best essential oil according to the
medical literature is clove oil. Clove actually ranks as the highest antioxidant
herb in the entire world today. So you can get a little bottle of essential
oils here of clove oil. You just take a… just one single drop and
you rub it right on the area. Now for teething babies, a lot of times what
you’ll do is you’ll take clove oil. You’ll mix it with an equal amount of coconut
oil and then you’ll use that, and rub it just right on the area. So again, you can see here, just take a bottle
of essential oil, a drop or two coconut oil. You rub it right on the area. There are several medical studies showing
that cloves or clove oil is so effective at actually helping heal and helping relieve
the pain associated with toothaches. If you don’t have clove essential oil at home,
you can actually go to the store and actually buy just clove powder. Mix that with coconut oil and rub that on
the area as well. But I will tell you, the oil of clove is the
most effective, even more effective than actually the clove powder that you’d cook with or bake
with at home. But again, if you don’t have it, don’t have
access, then doing some of the clove powder with coconut oil does work. The next thing you want to be doing is sea
salt. In fact doing sea salt in the area, gargling
and swishing around the area with sea salt. Sea salt actually has natural anti-bacterial
activities. It can actually have an analgesic effect on
the area. So again, swishing around some sea salt in
the area is also effective home remedy for fighting and healing toothaches. And last but not least, if you really want
to soothe or numb the area, peppermint oil. Peppermint oil contains menthol which actually
can help numb that area as well. So what I would recommend, ideally, if you
want to help heal or cure a toothache, the first thing you would do is you would swish
around in your mouth for two minutes, you’ll swish around sea salt. The next thing you do right afterwards, is
you would create a mixture of clove oil and peppermint oil and rub it directly on the
area. If you do those things together, you’re going
to find it’s really going to help you overcome that toothache very quickly. And let me say if it really gets out of hand,
obviously, you do want to go and see your local dentist or schedule appointment to see
a dentist. Some other things you may consider doing is
really backing off your sugar intake. You know, consuming sugar can feed yeast and
bacteria that can be causing a toothache, as well, or inflammation the area. So really reducing and eliminating excess
sugar intake can definitely help, another thing you may consider doing. But remember, hey, you want to kick a toothache
fast. Remember these ingredients, clove oil, peppermint
oil, and sea salt are the most effective home remedies when overcoming toothaches. And hey, if you want to learn more about the

  2. Thanks for making ymthis video I tried to help mom and she said thank you to me a
I am so thankful about this video thank god.

Take 800 mg ibuprofen. If they're 200 mg pills take 4 which equals 800mg. (They also sell them at gas stations and maybe toothache products too).

Ibuprofen cuts the inflammation which is a big part of the pain.

If you have garlic rub it on the gum of your bad tooth, leave it for 15 min or as long as you can take it.

    Mouthwash also kills bacteria.

  4. I tried salt water and it didn't help at all that pain is inside my gums and then shooting pain to my tooth. I can't take this pain anymore im about to kill myself

  5. CBD freeze roll on – rub on painful side of face. Instant pain relief – unreal. Been in agony for days and one roll of it completely numbed it.

  6. I’m just here in the worst pain I could ever be in 🦷 I have had the tooth ache for like 1-2 hours 🤒 it’s so sore I need help

  7. My 11 year old is dealing with a baby molar tooth that is nearly out but causing pain. I had no clove oil or Peppermint oil (Note to self to by some at the store next trip) but I did have sea salt. I mixed plenty of sea salt into a warm cup of water and she swished with it about a minute or so. She said "Hey Dad, it doesn't hurt any more and there is just one root left!" =) Update: Tooth out, rinsed with more salt water, happy kid, all is well.

  8. Guys i found the key to stop the pain

Just watch porn i watched porn one day because i was boring and had to much pain it stoped the pain

    Trust me

Why trust me because you don't think about the pain because if you think about the pain it will hurt even more
    So just watch porn

If you are under 18 don't watch porn
I dont have any idea about you people under 18

    Im 19 btw

  9. Saturate cotton bud in clove oil and place on or under affected tooth and bite down on it for a full minute. Toothache gone! Do this 2/3 times a day.

The downside is that clove oil burns like crazy. So rub a little coconut/olive/sesame oil on lips,
especially the corners and on the inside of cheek before doing this. Hopefully will act as a barrier between the clove oil and your skin. Be near the sink/bin when doing this as you will salivate like crazy. Spit it out as swallowing it will probably irritate your throat.

  10. Excellent! I have coconut oil, and peppermint and clove essential oils at home (at work right now). As weird as it sounds, I do get some relief from biting down on a hot toothbrush (literally a toothbrush I ran under super warm/hot water). However, not real practical for things like working, driving, or being seen anywhere but home. Tooth pain is so brutal!

  11. Toothaches are messed up. Everyone listen. I'm 5 10 176lbs .
Use 2 ibuprofen ,2 Motrin, Amoxicillin 500 and clove oil .. and this product called toothache they sell at Walgreens. It's like $8 usd. You likely have an infection if it's intese throbbing. That's what's making it hurt more than Nana's switch.

  12. Everyone if these dont work or you dont have none of these things 1 tip ive learnt is
Sit back with ur mouth open and dont move your mouth and it takes some of the pain away
    Try it good luck

  13. Feeling your pain other viewers, PS. I tried salt water bonjela and cayenne pepper, didn't work well enough so went to the chemist and ask for what is the strongest painkiller you can give me without a prescription, gave me codein and tooth anesthetic gel, still in pain but don't feel like amputating my jaw to remove the pain anymore.

  14. Im 39 and to this day an abcess tooth is the worst pain ive been in. Over my appendix rupturing a broken bone, and kidney stone, and yes the kidney stone was very very small, im sure some will argue stones are more painful, which im sure they are, but not mine.

  15. Went to the dentist yesterday for a crowned molar that feels like its going to freaking explode, they gave me a referral to an endodontist. Happy freaking New Year, I'm in so much pain I want to blow my head off. EVERYTHING CLOSED TODAY. WHEN IN DOUBT, PULL IT OUT

  18. Toothache are never good, but there many was to deal with it.

    Water and salt raise.
Use a mouth wash prescription by dentist.

Add an ice pack on the area.
Got a dentist appointment and go see a dentist.

  19. The second video…. After listening to it I realized that he just told me to suffer until Monday morning. This is Saturday night and I don't have the oil at home… I'll need to watch another video.

  20. Save what money you have for the dentist. Only thing that helps.. Essential oils may help, but they wont fix the problem

  21. Warm water baking soda rinse around the mouth for 60 seconds, rinse then clove oil try getting it in the nerve area yes the oil may hurt for a bit, but that will go away.

  22. Some things I have done which helped, depending on what is causing the pain of course, is to buy some garlic pills and take them. Eat real garlic if you can, but I can't. Garlic is a natural antibiotic. I have also been sipping on ice cold water and just holding some in my mouth where the pain is. Not really a solution, but it helps while you're trying to figure out where in hell you buy clove oil in this world.

  23. If you are Im pain try Puting warm water in your mouth and hold it for like 2 mins it should help numb the pain

  24. I recently shopped at Whole Foods recently for the purpose of buying peppermint and clove oil to apply to my daughters teeth as she recently had been complaining about a sore tooth. Now the peppermint and clove oil application to the sore tooth had caused a numbing on the actual tooth. After gargling before hand with salt water. To clean the mouth before hand. I have as skeptical if it would actually work, But surprisingly it had actually worked. I applied a little to my own gums to inspect the actual results of it before hand.

  25. Getting my wisdom teeth(impacted) out in three days, have decayed back teeth. Literally worst pain ever. Hate this. Oh Lord help me

  26. Put piece of garlic on top tooth. Press It down with your teeth in there. It will sting at first then never again
It will kill the pain and most of infection till you go to dentist. Also Clove oil from health store, it's stronger than walgreens oil and will totally numb the pain. If can't get dentist appt. Right away your doctor will give you antibiotics or any emergency dental smile center for only 50.00. Go now. I waited and the pain stopped but infection went to my throat area.

  27. Wow, I have awful tooth pain and have been using only clove. It was giving me very temporary relief. I added peppermint and sea salt rinse. This is the best I have felt in 60 hrs. I am about to repeat. Thanks. Tooth pain is the worst!

Btw i can't get rid of my sugar😫😭😷

  29. If you have a cavity and you are in extreme pain, avoid cold water even though stops the pain it makes it worse when u stop.

  30. Having a tooth ache is one of the worst pains, when you have one you realize how we take advantage of feeling normal.

  31. Dr.Axe is legit. He helped me naturally cure my strep throat with colloidal silver( i think that's how you spell it)

  32. I had a Real Bad Tooth ache and using (Oil of Oregano) for ten minutes a day 5 times a day helped and also gargling diluted (Hydrogen Peroxide) for 5 to 10 minutes 2 to 3 times a day helped.
