How Does The Affordable Care Act Work?

  1. My stepdad had to pay 600 dollars because he wasn't insured that year… I dont know what the hell he is trying to play down

  2. This was the most overblown thing I've ever seen. I don't have health insurance and I don't pay any fees. When filing a return you simply say "I couldn't afford it" and boom, penalty waived.

  3. 2018 Christmas my son accidentally sliped while looking at a new chief knife I got for Christmas and NEEDED 7 STITCHES, WE JUST RECEIVED THE BILL ,FOR 3 THOUSAND DOLLARS!!! SINCE IT WAS CHRISTMAS NO Clinical Was open!! HE WAS BLEEDING EVERWHERE, HE HAD TO GET MEDICAL ATTENTION! BUT THEY WANT FREE HEALTHCARE FOR ALL ILLEGALS!!$$$ THIS IS NOT RIGHT!!!!

  4. I pay a grand a month for my insurance and it's still a $500 bill if someone gets a goddmaned cold.

  5. Still waiting for my $2,500 annual savings to kick in… Seems like the price has to double first…and I get to pick from 2 clinics and can't see my own doctor I had seen for years or it won't be covered… and the coverage is fantastic…$5,400 out of pocket before I can even use it… So to wrap it up… Lost my doctor, lost my plan, higher policy cost, and higher out of pocket… yep sure seems like this is going to be better… fudge

  6. If you work…you pay…if you don't it's free… if you work, but don't make enough money to afford insurance…like if you have kids to feed or medicine you have to have…you are penalized through a tax levied against your taxes… yep seems like I shouldn't work…that way I get free housing, food, and medical insurance…if I try and move up…they take away benefits so they keep you on the government plantation… this was not to help people…this was to control the people…

  7. Its bullshit that the government can fine you for not having health care. They want to charge you and you receive nothing, greedy bastards. 10 trillion dollars is missing from the Pentagon and nobody is being held accountable. Fine people for not being able to afford something is idiotic. I feel like I'm watching the movie Idiocracy everytime I hear about what the government wants to do next. It's like our government is a toddler, leave me alone for one second and their into some shit they have no business fucking with. Remember this Uncle Sam, We The People is the boss, it's about time WE start acting like it. I don't want health care nor can I afford it. Plus I don't need it unless I break a bone or I'm leaking fluid real fast. I don't want none of your cancerous Pharmaceuticals. If you want me to have it, give it to me I'm not paying for shit. Fuck the government, they won't get another dollar out of me, other than sales tax

  8. 30 million americans can't afford healthcare. Obama: "now you're required to have insurance". Good job moron 🙁

  9. Wait a minute. Something doesn't sound right. I'm a subscribing Meander to the cheapest insurance I could find which is for myself my spouse and my daughter..

  10. This video didn't age well. Tens of millions are still uninsured and healthcare is much more expensive.

  11. OBAMA RUINED HEALTH CARE IN AMERICA COST IS UP 300% i lost my health insurance and my doctor obama is an idiot

  12. usa had the best healthcare in the world… paying more for healthcare means you get better healthcare.

  13. This was so biased, it doesn't highlight any of the factors in which the Affordable health care act doesn't work.

  14. Some inaccuracies in this video. Many people couldn't keep thier plans because the law set minimum requirements for what plans had to cover, making many plans invalid. Some employers filed lawsuits over the kinds of coverage required and the costs involved.

Also the marketplace approach didn't work as it was dependent on states expanding Medicaid, which many didn't because they couldn't afford it. When I went online to buy health insurance the marketplace literally told me I was too poor to afford any of the options on the site and I should be on Medicaid. It tells you that if your income is below the poverty line (mine is a family of five so $30000 per year). The problem with that is Missouri didn't raise thier Medicaid cut off for adults so if household income is more than $4800 per year (one sixth of the federal minimum to buy health insurance for my family) my wife and I are too rich to be covered. My kids are covered by Medicaid but I'm too rich for my wife and I to get Medicaid but too poor to buy health insurance according to the website's algorithms.

The law was dependant on too many others making voluntary changes that didn't so it utterly fails to do what was intended.

  15. This is actually incredible but some idiots won't understand it.I mean it's not perfect but it is not as horrible as the corporaticized healthcare that exists in your country. You Americans are a bunch of ungrateful motherfuckers.
