How to Clean and Remove Pesticides From Your Fruits and Vegetables

Believe it or not, there are chemicals in
most of the fruit and vegetables that we eat every day. These chemicals are called pesticides and
are used by farmers to keep pests away from their crops. However, sometimes some of the chemicals leave
a residue on the fruit and vegetables. Most of the time, the residue cannot be seen
without a scientific microscope or perhaps a magnifying glass. Even though we may not see the residue, we
are likely still consuming it. Too many of these chemicals can affect our
health. If fruit and vegetables are eaten raw, without
properly being washed, you are ingesting chemicals. This is important because pesticides can cause
cancer. They can also damage your nervous system and reproductive system. They can even cause birth defects to an unborn
child. It is important to note where you are purchasing
your fruit and vegetables from and what types of chemicals, if any, that farmer uses. When possible, buy organic fruit and vegetables
so that you know no pesticides were used on your produce. Regardless if you buy organic or not, it is
important to properly clean your fruit and vegetables to remove any residue. Below you will find a list of all-natural
ways to clean fruit and vegetables. These home tips can make you feel healthier,
increase your lifespan, and decrease your risk of disease: 1. Vinegar Vinegar is one of the most powerful ingredients
that help to kill germs and pesticides from your fruit and vegetables. – First, fill a sink with water.
– Then, add one cup of white vinegar. – Rinse the fruit and vegetables in this solution.
– Once completed, place the fruit and vegetables in a clean bowl. They are now ready to be eaten. 2. Baking Soda Baking soda helps to remove the harmful pesticides
and chemicals from fruit and vegetables. – Add 5 glasses of water to a big bowl.
– Add 4 tablespoons of baking soda. – Soak the fruit and vegetables in this solution.
– Wait 15 minutes and then remove the fruit and vegetables.
– Wipe them dry. It is now safe to eat your healthy food. 3. Turmeric Water Turmeric is a spice that acts as an antibacterial.
That means that it can kill germs. – To a bowl of boiling water, add 5 teaspoons
of turmeric powder. – Add the fruit and vegetables to the turmeric
water. – Rinse the fruit and vegetables in the turmeric
water. – Transfer the fruit and vegetables to a bowl
of clean water. – Wipe dry. Your fruit and vegetables are
now safe to eat. 4. Salt Salt is a well known compound found all over
the world. It comes in several forms. Rock salt and ground salt kills pesticides
quickly: – In a bowl of clean water, add one cup of
salt. – Add the fruit and vegetables to the salt
solution. – Allow them to soak in the water for 10 minutes.
– After 10 minutes, drain the salt water and add fresh water to the bowl.
– Rinse the fruit and vegetables in clean water 5 times before consuming. The tricks and tips listed above will remove
almost 90% of any residue left from any chemicals the farmer may use. They allow you to clean your fruit and vegetables
at home. However, to be on the safe side, peel the
skin off fruits and vegetables that have deep ridges on the skin. These are locations where the chemicals cling
onto and linger. Happy eating! If you like the video, give it a thumbs up

  1. Please watch the new and improved version of the video here:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hh5RWjaRKpY

    Thanks for watching!

  2. Not 'THE BIG ORGANIC LIE' again. To be certified organic doesn't mean pesticide free at all – it's mostly just another marketing con to rip off unsuspecting consumers.

  3. PESTICIDES SPRAYED ON THE fruit after they have formed may be washed off but all the chemicals put in the ground for fruits and vegetables to be grown bigger, weed and pest free, can NOT be washed off—it is in the fruit and veggies. Know the farmer you are buying from or buy certified organic. Or better yet, grow as much as you can yourself, you can do so even in the city by using pots even if you have a very small patio or space.

  4. Why do fear mongering videos always say pesticides can harm the body without specifically outlining how? It seems a little vague. Ive heard so many stupid people say, "omg look at this substance on the apple, that must be the pesticides." No you dink. That is the wax sprayed on the apples to prevent bruising. You can't fucking see pesticides. And easy tricks like this to "remove" the pesticide doesn't work because it was absorbed at a cellular level. You cant get rid of pesticides this way in the same way that cancer doesn't wash off.

  5. I use selzer water or tonic water to clean fruits and vegetables before cooking and eating. How effective is that?

  6. We have to find our own way to fight back pesticides off the things we love to eat because companies and farmers won't stop and for your own health there are lots you can use for free or pay a small fee you can also donate some to the food bank

  7. use the sink??? THATS NASTY!!!! y use sink if u have a big bowl??? thats more worst than the fruit with pesticide u r soaking. u didnt get sick witu the pesticide of the fruit n veges but get sick on the germs and molds in the sink LOL

  8. Buy organic especially broccoli and cauliflower as they are very difficult to wash being so tightly formed florets. Strawberries and tomatoes the worst for pesticides. Best to grow your own. Tomatoes grow easily and quickly. Use the seeds of an organic tomatoe to start your crop. Use chicken or other wire + posts to make the tomato structure to hold the vines. Best not to put near a neighbouring fence as it will climb over (unless your neighbour is happy to eat tomatoes).

  9. As long as you eat vegetables, fish, meat bought in the wet and supermarkets you cannot cape consuming some residues of chemical.
Same goes for food stalls and restaurants.
We have to be vigilant in washing our vegetables and meat by using ingredients like turmeric, ginger, sea rock salt, viniger to mention some.

  10. The seeds are pesticide contaminated when buying seeds to grow your own you think it's self grown organic it's not. All seeds sold are harmful to use for self growing gardens.

  11. Get yourselves a water ionizer unit specifically Enagic brand. It generates strong alkaline water that washes away oil based pesticide/herbicide off the fruits and veggies.
If interested in a unit reply.

  12. So glad to get this information, I can’t afford to buy organic, most cost too much. I will certainly start doing this, but one question, you said soak in the sink, sinks have germs in them that might get on your produce don’t they? I will use a big pot. Thanks

  13. Salt kills pesticides! Wow I didn't know that pesticides were alive. Has this been tested in a Lab to make sure the pesticides were really dead? I'm so impressed with this video I'm going to stop buying Organic and get more salt and vinegar

  14. Now a days 'Organic' is a fancy word. Not sure they are really organic but still better than GMOs. I grow some vegetables in my backyard in the short summer and I use organic seed, organic soil, crowdung ( from Aamish county) as a fertilizer and I make my own fertilizer with vegetables waste.

  15. No way you are going to see pesticides with a microscope or magnifying glass (LOL). It takes chemical analysis in a qualified lab using established tests, including mass spectrometers to identify the chemical constituents of the various pesticides. Clearly this YouTuber is not qualified to be giving out advice on this topic. Also as others have pointed out, pesticides are inside the pulp of the fruit. Try selecting varieties that usually need less treatment. By doing some research you can see which fruits and vegetables are typically treated with less pesticides. But unless you go organic, grown in fields/orchards that were never treated in the past, you will always be subjected to pesticides. By washing you can at least eliminate some of the toxicity.

  16. So at lunch I had sum of them apple slices right? Well I swear those apples were sitting in ocean water for 56 years

  17. White vinegar is acid chemistry. Apple cider vinegar is better its alkaline, although bad for your tweth

  18. It is a big myth among people that It is better NOT to eat fruits and vegetables if they are not organic , you are in much better position if you eat fruits and vegetables organic/normal rather going cold turkey if you are not able to get organics. Of course ,try to peel fruits vegetables that are eaten directly like grapes ( good luck. with that , I never tried grapes) , guava , tomatoes , carrots ,.or try the things suggested in this video , given a choice I would also love to eat organic but my pocket and availability and authencity of organics is always in my mind .But it is not good to NOT eat at all vegetables, fruits available in your supermarket , organic farming cannot sustain the world hunger ,it is impractical !

  19. So the healthy food that’s been programmed into my head since birth is actually the food that’s being used to kill me. Nice place earth.

  20. I just ate a cucumber and I have the worst headache ever right now . I knew something was wrong when it tasted waxy.

  21. Be careful with strawberries. They have lots of pores in which pesticides linger. Always buy organic strawberries if possible! Stay healthy you guys! 🙏🏼

  22. Strawberries kale and spinach have the most residue of chemicals according the article i read. Is worth buying organic.

  23. Or farmers can stop using the pesticides “just buy organic” firstly why do they cost more wtf 2,this world is backwards as fu—

  24. It's impossible to successfully remove pesticides from fruits and vegetables. Have you heard of Round Up Ready Seeds? They have Seeds genetically engendered with Pesticides. Also produce is porous. Its absorbs the chemicals. Stay safe, go organic!

  25. Buying "organic" is by no means a certainty of NO pesticides being used in their production. The USDA allows a certain smaller use of pesticides and chemical fertilizers that allows growers to still affix the "organic" label legally.

  26. …anyone ELSE notice that Ms computer voice is advocating “killing pesticides”, or is it just me 🤷‍♂️?!…sheesh!

  27. Do not breathe or drink water either; the air is polluted and the water contains harmful germs and chemicals !!

  28. The only is to grow your own fruit and vege.
Don't spray, don't use manure from the shop bc that too may contain someTHINGs that the crops may absorb and go to the fruit.
    Don't smoke, don't drink alcohol.

  29. Organic products are a lot of crap, because in today's world as long as chemtrails are there, no products can be organic

  30. After watching this BS video and reading these comments I think I'm going to have a Mars bar and Big Mac. forget about it.

    It's Freakn hopeless..

  31. Even cleaning it cannot rid the chemicals 100% so you will still be injesting chemicals – recently bought a lg. bag of carrots for a crockpot dinner, my daughter uses organic so I was going to get organic becuz I kno she wud rather but wen I checked the organic carrots there were several bags that had Big MoldyBlack Spots all over them!! 😫😝😠NO T Y!!👎

  32. You've shown your ignorance. A magnifying glass or a microscope can detect pests but not pesticides. Pesticides can be detected through chemical analysis or complex physical spectrometric methods.

  33. I soak fruit in white vinegar for couple minutes then couple teaspoons of baking soda. This results in lot bubbling. Next rinse fruit in plain watet.

  34. My professor said can’t wash pesticides out cause it’s in the soil too & plants sucks pesticides up though the roots. It’s INSIDE whole plants & fruits

  35. I don't want to cook my lemons it will not come iff..its the stuff for transport and the same we use for creative postols to patch things..nithing but very agressicecstuff will get off the plastic like stuff..the pores of the lemon are not eatable anymore..

  36. Don't buy these foods if they are not clean! Know your farmer just like how you know your doctor. Your food is your medicine, your lifestyle is your therapy!

The chemicals and pesticides are inside the food itself through absorption.

  37. Thumbs up not for the information instead for the way u presented it your voice sweetheart 👌👍🌹🌷

  38. Lol the guy in the thumbnail is wearing an N95 dist mask that doesn't protect against oil-based particles…. dumbass.
