How to Survive a Venomous Snake Bite : First Aid if an Adult is Bitten by a Snake

Hi, I’m Ginger Black. I’m a professional snake
handler with Expert Village. For demonstration purposes, we have a snake bite victim. Some
of the first things you want to keep in mind are what not to do. Don’t do that old trick
your Grandpa talked about of cutting a hole or an “X” above the bite and sucking the venom
out. You don’t want the victim’s blood or the snakes venom in your mouth. Another thing
you don’t want to do is make a tourniquet and tie it off. You’ll cause more harm than
good. What you do want to happen is the victim to stay calm. You want to keep them as calm
as possible. Have them sit down or lie down in a comfortable position with the site of
the bite below the heart. This will help keep the venom from moving to the heart too quickly.
You want to pick up a cell phone if you have one available and call for professional help.
Stay with your victim. Keep them conscious and calm through the whole thing.

  1. the guy will fuckin die if u dont suck the poison from him blood and spit it out, u people put stupid videos on the net

  2. lmao okay, so say a friend and I are in the middle of the woods and he gets bit by a venomous snake. I sit him down in a comfortable position but I don't have a cell phone cause I'm a poor bastard or maybe I have one but its not getting reception. Uh ya thanks for the tip. It's the same tip I use when and if my friend gets shot, falls off a cliff, is hit by a moving vehicle etc. etc. Pick up my cell phone, make sure they stay calm and call help. Wow! I'd be lost without this video.

  3. I've heard some crap in my life …..this is typical redneck stupidity…… expert!! right. She's the kind of Neanderthal that would really believe that because she picks up a snake she's qualified to teach! I think her parents were close kin!.

  4. It's funny reading most of these comments because this woman is 100% right and everyones trying to say shes not. *lol* The only way I'd even try to suck venom from a bite would be if were a coral snake.. With their short fangs they cant pump venom deep into your body.. Like the pit vipers, they sink deep so what youre mostly sucking out is the blood on top of the venom and has already started moving through your body. And cutting yourself doesnt help you.

  5. OMFGSH I NEVER in my entire life would of thought to do that. Thank you. You saved my life. I'll keep this in mind next time I get bit by a poison snake

  6. I dont like mocking serious videos….. BUT…. in what way does this video help. The basic premise of the advice given is seek help….. well gee here i would prob go home and try to forget all about the venomous snake bite. the only good advice is not what to do, well i can tell u a million things not to do. Like dont bite the snake back, dont watch this video for advice on how to treat the bite or dont pee on the wound

  7. can't you understand?? Its only a first aid and not the treatment at all.. its only temporary. If you want to really know how to treat poisonous bites, be a DOCTOR.. or search the net about some herbal medicines etc. first aid is done before MEDICAL ASSISTANCE came.

  8. Just be careful!!!!
That's all.. so that there is no FIRST AID and treatment to be done..

Remember.. PREVENTION is better than CURE!!!!

  9. This is retarded. Lady 50% of time your bitten is while your camping and out of cell phone range. Why aren't more ppl informed about saving a life with a high voltage tazer. Or buy a pair of jumper cables and a car!?!?!? The FDA doesn't see it fit to nuetralize snake venom this way because they make 10k per snake bite. Anti venom is the best way, don't get me wrong. but incase u get bit in B.F.E. There's other ways

  10. for those who say they wouldnt stay calm and they'd go runnin around doing this and that, you people are fuckin idiots and are just gonna cause yourself more harm and most likely cause your own death. And it is not true that most of the time if a person gets bitten they are gonna be somewhere where there isnt a signal. Do you know how much man has improved the technology of cell phones and such? Obviously not. Most likely you will be able to call 911.

  11. The correct first aid applied immediately will greatly improve the outcomes for the victim.
The correct first aid is to apply a constrictive bandage to the entire limb , then splint and immobilise the limb. Arrange an ambulance to evacuate the patient by strecher.
The major components of venom are very large molecules and have trouble crossing the capillar membranes to the blood stream, so they move in the low pressure lymphatic system.
Open a book before your mouth, you will do less harm.

  12. Labrat's 100% right. This woman has no idea what she's talking about -.-" And if you don't have a triangle bandage around to immobilise it, just sling through one of your shirt button gaps.

  13. This woman should stop making videos. They are about as informative and a traffic light on an empty desert road.

  14. Don't listen to anything that this channel teaches regarding snake bite treatment, It will not work! it is false information.
the correct first aid for a venomous snake bite is to wrap a simple pressure bandage around the limb that is bitten and keep the limb still with a splint and get medical attention promptly.
Extractors and other methods of snake bite treatment are not scientifically proven to work and people have died trying these methods.

  15. @TheWaterPower i agree with u i look at a few videos and they keep saying the same thing …what do u actually do if u have no phone or anything around to treat it like medicine etc …( this lady is saying not to tie the arm etc and soe ppl r saying to tie it ..so which is correct

  16. if all you can do is stay calm and call 911 then what happens if you are in a place where you don't have signal? most of the time people get bit in the woods or somewhere where there isn't signal. does that mean you are stuck there because moving the victim would make the venom spread.

  17. This is not a tutorial video. This is a marketing promotion video. Remember: Always bring some cash or credit card just in case you get bitten by the snake.

  18. You're SOL if you get bit where our farm is. No one around for miles. Cell phone has no signal there. And if you're skinny like me, hell, no help. Went out there today saw 2 snakes. Cottonmouth and a water moccasin. The moccasin in fact popped after with lightning speed after I stomped my foot near a water hole. It gave chase and I ran my ass off. Thank god I had a head start, too!

  19. what if i cant find professorial help? lets say its just just me(or two of use are there). what kind of desperate measures we should consider to survive ??????

  20. She tells him to relax because SNAKE VENOM IS IN HIS BLOOD. When you're panicking, blood flows faster, meaning venom flows faster. If you're calm, it will slow down the flow of blood.

  21. TOOOOOOOO DUMMM… HOW TO STOP THE SPREAD OF VENOM IN THE BODY IF BITTEN IN REMOTE AREA.. THERE MUST BE SOME HOME REMEDIES.. OTHERWISE; HOW OUR ANCESTORS SURVIVE COUNTLESS SNAKE BITES WHEN THERE WAS NO MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY AND THEY USED TO LIVE WITH ENVIRONMENT FLOODED WITH SNAKES AND OTHER DANGEROUS ANIMALS… PLEASE SAY SOMETHING USEFUL. U JUST HOPELESS. WHATS WRONG TO TIE THE HAND OR LEG ABOVE THE WOUND TO SLOW IT DOWN GOING IN BLOOD STREAM AND TO THE HEART. U BREACHING MORE THAN ADVISING. TRUE

  22. What if there is no cell phone around? And how about telling us how long it takes for different venoms to take effect?! I also agree with Eden Adam saying WHY is it wrong to tie the limb above the bite to slow the venom flowing to the heart? Maybe it IS wrong, but then tell us WHY!! What's the point of such a short video???? It doesn't help much at all…

  23. This is dumb we don't want to know to call the ambulance we won't to know what to do if the hospital is out of reach or by the time you get there or they come there may be death so what do we do if the hospital is out of reach

  24. Why dont you make it real.your so calm like a girl working on a front desk and dont know what to do ,so call an ambulance…
