Hypoglycaemia | 60 Second First Aid

(dramatic music) – If somebody is diabetic and they are appearing pale, cold, clammy, a bit shaky, light headed, possibly a bit confused and sometimes they can even appear sort of slightly drunk or grumpy or a bit aggressive, talk to them. Ask them could your blood
glucose levels be dipping a bit? Are you feeling okay? They should have something with them to boost their sugar levels quickly. If they have, great, if not, if you can get hold of a
sugary drink, not a diet one, or dissolve a bit of sugar in some water, give them something to
give them a quick boost. They should feel better quickly. Follow that up with carbohydrates, so like a jam sandwich or something and encourage them to speak
to their diabetic nurse for further advice.
