Braselton or NGMC Braselton for short is a 100 bed Hospital located in one of
the fastest growing areas in the state. With easy access to two interstates it’s
only 30 minutes from Gainesville and an hour from Atlanta. NGMC Braselton opened
in 2015, and it brought services modeled around the programs of excellence from
NGMC Gainesville closer to home for people in southern Hall County. The
hospital now offers interventional and Diagnostic Heart Services, Vascular Care,
Orthopedics, Neurosciences, Cancer Treatment, Robotic Surgery,
Emergency Services, Labor and Delivery Services, Neonatal Intensive Care and
more. Internal Medicine residents will gain experience working in a variety of
areas throughout in GMC Braselton including the emergency room, where
residents will treat patients while admitting them. In our patient rooms
where they will train alongside hospitalist faculty members. Residents
will also work on the medical and surgical floors where interviews and
patient physicals take place as well as have access to the laboratory or
radiology suites to further evaluate a patient’s condition. The medical
intensive care unit also called the MICU will be the home of internal medicine
residents during their final year of training. The multidisciplinary team
approach to care in the MICU will give residents the opportunity to
lead decision-making discussions with medical intensivists. Residents in the
MICU will also learn procedural skills and ventilator management as they help
care for our most vulnerable patients. Training the next generation of
physicians to serve our community begins with hands-on experiential learning by
listening to our patients and demonstrating respectful compassion.
Residents will train alongside the internal medicine specialists of
Northeast Georgia Physician Group, the sixth largest physician group in the
state. An outpatient or ambulatory internal medicine practice is also on
the Braselton campus just a short walk away from the hospital
inside Medical Plaza One. Medical Plaza One is also home to an urgent care
center, Imaging Center, Endoscopy Suite Outpatient
Lab, Retail Pharmacy, and a variety of multi-specialty physician offices.
NGMC Braselton was designed with lean principles in mind which means its floor
plan and technological enhancements allow for smarter workflows for
physicians, nurses and staff, and more efficient communication between multiple
locations. It was also built not just to improve the health of the community but
also of the environment. In fact NGMC Braselton was the first Hospital in
Georgia to be certified as a Gold Rated Healthcare facility by Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design also known as LEAD, thanks to sustainable
practices and efficient energy use. The hospital’s cafeteria, Cafe 1400, uses
fresh local ingredients to make made from scratch meals and features a stone
pizza oven, salad bar, deli selections, grilled
burgers, sandwiches, coffee barista, and daily specials. During break times, all
residents can enjoy the comforts of the physician lounge, sleep rooms, and break
rooms, with wonderful views of the nearby landscape. Northeast Georgia Medical
Center Braselton will offer residents the opportunity to train in one of the
newest hospitals in Georgia in the state’s most awarded Health System.
