Primary Care Physician Assistant: Francesca Carter, PA-C

My name is Francesca Carter, and I am a physician assistant
with Duke Primary Care. Within Primary Care,
myself as a physician assistant, I see a wide array of different patients. From patients of all ages, so
from birth up to the elderly. I manage chronic conditions, but
also acute conditions as well. And also really focus on the preventative
health for patients as well, and really being focused on wellness for
our patients. My approach to working with patients and
their families is to really build relationships and work with them as
a team, to meet their health goals. I think the most gratifying thing about
being a physician assistant here is really seeing the positive
impacts that me and the patient build as a team
working to better their health. I love the quote by Maya Angelou. She says, people will forget what you
said, they’ll forget what you did, but they’ll never forget
the way you made them feel. And I really try to use this
philosophy with each patient encounter. Outside of work I’m really involved in
my church, located in the Raleigh area. I’m also really close to my family. My sister has two little daughters, so I’m an aunt to two little girls,
so I love spending time with them. I also love to bake. My mom is a phenomenal baker and
Ive learned everything I know from her. So in my free time I enjoy baking
with her for family and friends.
