Recalled Products: Bad Sight for Sore Eyes

I’m Gabe Garza with today’s health news. Those who use products to ease issues like
eye dryness might want to give the labels in their medicine cabinets another glance
this week. Allergan, PLC, a Dublin-based pharmaceutical
company, has issued a recall of certain eye products in the US due to safety concerns. According to an Allergan press release posted
on the FDA website, the voluntary recall was issued after several customer complaints regarding
a small black particle present in the eye products. The company said several injuries tied to
these complaints had been reported, including 12 reports of a foreign body in the eye, two
reports of eye irritation, two reports of eye discomfort, one report of eye swelling
and one report of blurred vision. For more specific details, product numbers
and expiration dates of recalled items, check the FDA’s website.
