WTDP Rochester February 25, Deaf Community’s Open Forum On Medical Services

Have you seen this flyer? If not, take a look: Also, have you seen Joe Kolash’s video? Joe, along with other WTDP advocates of Rochester, NY. They have been working with Strong Memorial Hospital discussing about their mediacal services. As an agreement, they decided to have an Deaf Commmunity Open Forum on Medical Services. They hope this will help improve services at hospitals communities. What we need is your your stories, your experiences, your suggestions. We want you to come and share your negative or positive past experiences with the hospital. Some examples are like, as a patient, denied an interpreter? When asking why, you were told there were none available? Were you told that you could not have an interpreter because you weren’t the patient? Did the doctor expect you to speechread? How would you rate your treatment when you arrived? Was it good or bad? When getting an interpreter was it a good, qualified interpreter? Or were the personnel you dealt with clueless?
Strong Memorial Hospital is looking forward to this event to hear your stories. They want to learn about your past experiences as if they are positive OR negative. please come join the Deaf Community Open Forum on Medical Services. Bring your feedback and information to share with URMC-SMH hospital. This will help the hospital learn from the Deaf community’s feedback.
